ABOUT

Hej, Is mise Serena Scully... an Irish Illustrator, Designer, and Educator based in Stockholm.

2023 was a great year for me both personally and professionally, I had a beautiful baby and teamed up with the lovely team at @iriscomhar and illustrated my first children’s book, An Snag Breac Ildailte!

​

In the autumn, I was delighted to have been selected by a panel of Irish and International publishers to be featured in this years @kidsbooksireland ‘New Voices’ category at the annual International Children’s Books Ireland Conference. An honour and a privilege to present my work and be included in such a talented panel of authors and illustrators. 

​

Ruth Ennis of Children's Books Ireland wrote a very kind review of my illustrations in 'An Snag Breac Ildailte' calling them "some of my favourite picture book illustrations of the year to be seen". I was later interviewed by Books Ireland for their 'Under the Covers' feature where I talk about about staying curious, keeping my eyes open, and taking inspiration from the natural world around me.

I also got to work on some lovely private commissions like wedding stationary illustrations, personal portraits, a logo design for O.U.T. Opening Up Together an LGBT Youth Organisation and badge design for Scouting Ireland's Contingent to the World Scout Jamboree in Korea. 

​

Generally, my work blends across various digital mediums from graphic design, and illustration to photography. As a keen adventurer, the natural environment, and the process of pollination have strong influences on my work both artistically and ethically.
