Hej, is misé Serena Scully, an Irish illustrator, designer, and educator living in Stockholm.

In 2023, I worked with the team at LeabhairComhar and illustrated my first children’s book, 'An Snag Breac Ildaite', an Irish language picture book about embracing your true self. My illustrations for 'An Snag Breac Ildaite' were selected by a panel of Irish and International publishers to be one of ten featured illustrators in the ‘New Voices’ category at the annual International Children’s Books Ireland Conference. 

Ruth Ennis of Children's Books Ireland wrote a very kind review of my illustrations in 'An Snag Breac Ildailte' calling them "some of [her] favourite picture book illustrations of the year to be seen". I was later interviewed by Books Ireland for their 'Under the Covers' feature where I spoke about staying curious, keeping my eyes open, and taking inspiration from the natural world around me.

I specialise in illustrating narratives that celebrate the beauty of nature and promote themes of sustainability and diversity. From vibrant ecosystems to heartwarming stories of inclusivity, I strive to create visuals that evoke emotion, spark curiosity, and inspire positive change. My style is highly adaptable and versatile, allowing me to tailor my illustrations to suit a wide range of projects and preferences. I am eager to explore opportunities to work on more illustration projects, whether it be illustrating for your upcoming publications, contributing to your marketing materials, or collaborating on bespoke projects that align with our shared values.
